Akin Holding was established in 1980 to incorporate it's various companies under one roof.The holding company was formed to promote positive growth focusing on unity and integration of resources. All of the family shares are consolidated within the holding company.. The activities of Akin Holding can be grouped under three main categories.These are: production, finance and marketing.

A) PRODUCTION
1) Akin Tekstil/ Spinning, weaving, dyeing, finishing, garment production. Established in 1956 by R?kin and Mr. Haydar Akin, 85% of the company is held by Akin Holding the remaining 15% is publicly traded in the Istanbul Stock Exchange (IMKB). The company has over 1400 employees and produces over 13 million meters of fabric where, %80 is exported to EU and USA. The company also produces over one million pieces of finished garment, of which 100% is exported.

2) Edip Iplik/ Spinning, yam production and dyeing.
Edip Iplik was founded in 1971 to produce cotton yarn for the rapidly growing Turkish textile Industry. Over the years it has expanded and diversified it's product range to become the largest natural and man made yarn producer in Turkey.The company's annual gross sales are over $42 million.Edip Iplik's major share holders are: Akin Holding, Feza Holding and members of the Akin, Celebi and Koc families.15% of the company shares are publicity traded on IMKB.

3) Akin Mensucat/ Knitting and Garment Production.Akin Mensucat was founded in 1983 by Akin Holding where it is the major shareholder of the company.Akin Mensucat produces circular knitted fabric to be used in it's own clothing line. The company is one of the leading leisure and sportswear garment producer in Turkey.All of the garments produced by Akin Mensucat are exported to EU and USA.

4) Akin Giyim/ Producer of ready-made garments.
Akin Giyim is a relatively new company established in early 1997.It produces ready-made sportswear for both sexes.Akin Giyim markets it's products worldwide under it's own brand name.

5) Edpa Five Star/ Garment production:
Edpa Five Star was established in 1993 to take advantage of the emerging markets in the C.I.S., concentrating in investments in the textile sector. The company is owned by Akin Holding, Edpa Pazarlama, Mr.Nuri Akin, Mr. Hasan Arat and Mr. Hifzi Arat.

B) FINANCE

1) TEKSTILBANK/ Corporate and retail banking:
Tekstilebank was formed in 1986 by the Akin Group to provide corporate banking services to the private sector, particularly the textile industry.Over the years Tekstilbank has expanded and diversified it's activities.Today it offers it's clients a wide range of services from corporate finance to retail banking. Tekstilbank went public in 1990. At present 29.98% of it's shares to GSD Dis Ticaret, the largest Export company in Turkey. The combined strength of Tekstilbank and GSD fuelled it's rapid growth resulting in wide spread of retail banking activities.At present Tekstilebank has a paid-in capital of over 3.4 trillion TL., twenty two strategically located branches throughout Turkey and relations with over 400 banks worldwide.

2) The Euro Textile Bank/ Off - shore banking.
The EuroTextile Bank (ETB) was established on September 1992 as an offshore bank in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, It is 99.99% owned by Tekstilbank and has a paid up capital of 5 million U.S. dollars. ETB offers a full range of international banking services, acting as an intermediary in import/export transactions.

3) Tekstil Factoring/ Domestic and International factoring:
Textile Factoring was established on February 1994 by Tekstilbank. The Euro textile bank and private investors to provide services to a wide range of clients. Textile Factoring's domestic and international portfolio consists mainly of companies active in the textile sector, however, Tekstil Factoring has many clients who are from other major sectors as well.

4) Tekstil Leasing/ Financial leasing:
Tekstil Leasing was founded in July 1996 by Tekstilbank and has rapidly established a reputation as one of the most dynamic and professional establishment in the Turkish leasing sector. As a wholly owned subsidiary of Tekstilbank, Tekstil Leasing is able to draw on the bank's client portfolio along with the collective power of the Turkish textile community.

5) Tekstil Menkul/ Investment banking services.
Tekstil Menkul (TMD), one of the top ten brokerage houses operating in the Istanbul Stock Exchange, (IMKB) provides a full spectrum of investment banking services for it's individual and institutional clients.The brokerage department pursues a client-driven approach and provides high quality consulting as well as efficient trading services.

C) MARKETING

1) AKGUR/ Marketing fabric:
Akgur Kumas was established in 1983 to sell fabric produced by the Akin Group to the clothing market as well as the wholesale fabric market.The company is owned by: Akin Tekstil, Akin Holding, Haydar Akin Holding and members of the Akin family.

2) AKBUL/ Marketing fabric:Akbul Tekstil was founded in 1982 to supply fabrics to the domestic market. The company is owned by Akin Tekstil, Akin Holding, Mr. Haydar Akin and private individuals.

3) INTERSER/ Tourism:Interser was founded in 1984 by Akin Holding and private investors as a customs clearing agency, a tourism agency and to invest in the booming tourism sector of Turkey.

4) EDPA KIMYA/ Chemicals for the textile industry:Edpa Kimya was founded in 1990 to import and distribute dyes for the expanding Turkish textile Industry. The company's shareholders are: Akin Holding, Feza Holding, Mr.Huseyin Koc, Mr. Ibrahim Celebi and Mr.Hasan Esen. The remaining shares are held by the members of the Akin family and some other private investors.

5) EDPA USA/ Marketing textiles and Lumber:Edpa USA was founded in 1984 by Akin Holding, Mr.Izzet Benatrete and other private investors with the objective of increasing textile exports from Turkey to the USA.

6) EDPA TEKSTIL/ Textiles and lumber.Edpa Tekstil was founded in 1984 by Akin Holding and Mr. Izzet Benadrete and other private investors to serve the distribution and sourceing requirements of Edpa USA

7) AKTEK/ Garment marketing: Aktek Giyim was established in 1995 by Akin Tekstil, Akin Holding.Haydar Akin Holding and members of the Akin family, to market the JIB DOOR line of sports and casual wear, a brand created by Aktek Giyim.

D) PHILANTHROPIC FOUNDATIONS

1) Rustu Akin Vakfi (foundation): Established in June 1986 as a non-profit organization to contribute for the development of Turkey and the Turkish people through supporting education, public health, and social services. On an annual basis the foundation provides : awards and scholarships to students along with financial contributions to educational, health care and social facilities.

2) Rustu Akin Anadolu Meslek Lisesi (Vocational High School): In December 1994 the Turkish President Mr. Suleyman Demirel officially opened the school, which the foundation then donated to the Ministry of Education. The school provides education and training for needy students to prepare them to take part in the textile industry.

3) Emel Akin Meslelek Yuksek Okulu (Vocational Academy): In 1994 the Foundation also established Emel Akin Vocational Academy on the on the campus of Ege University in Izmir to provide students with technical training covering every facet of the modern textile industry
