Edpa USA was founded in April 1984 by Akin Holding, Izzet Benadrete and other private individuals with the objective of increasing exports from Turkey to USA.
Initially the Company concentrated on importing yarn and fabrics into the USA from the Akin Group of companies Starting in 1985, Edpa USA began to operate as an independent import and export company. Today the Company has an annual turnover of over US$ 50 million.
While import of yarn and fabrics from Turkey to the USA remains the Company's core business, it has also diversified into home textiles and finished apparel, as well as non-textile industries. The Company has also expanded beyond bilateral trade between Turkey and the USA to become a truly global player, sourceing from countries in the Far East, South America and Europe and selling in the international market. In the years ahead the Company's log distribution and lumber export department volume is expected to undergo substantial growth. The apparel sourceing and representation division is also expected to take a larger role in the US - Turkish apparel trade, which will contribute to a major increase in the Company's turnover.
