Akgur Kumas was established in Istanbul in January 1983 to sell fabrics both to the clothing market and the wholesale fabric market. The Company is owned by Akin Tekstil, Akin Holding, Haydar Akin Holding and members of the Akin family.

Akgur Kumas closely monitors trends in international trade fairs and potential demand on the domestic market before designing its own fabric line, which is made to the Company's specifications by Akin Tekstil. Akgur also serves as a distributor for some of Akin Tekstil's own fabrics. Approximately 70* percent of the Company's sales are to manufacturers of men's garments.
