Tekstil Leasing was founded in July 1996 by Tekstilbank and has quickly established a reputation as one of the most dynamic and professional members of the Turkish leasing sector.

Since its introducing in the mid-1980's leasing has become one of the most important sources of medium-term financing for Turkish firms. Initially, leasing companies handled transactions from any sector. Later they began to specialize and develop expertise in specific fields. The textile sector is Turkey's leading source for foreign currency, accounting for approximately 30 percent of the country's total exports, and textile companies are increasingly turning to leasing to finance purchases of plant and equipment.

As a wholly owned subsidiary of Tekstilbank, Tekstil Leasing is able to draw on the Bank's client portfolio and rivaled knowledge of the Turkish textile sector. Within two months of its establishment Tesktil Leasing had already recorded a transactions volume of US$ 5.5 million, of which 60 percent was textile machinery. Backed by the experience, financial acumen and reputation of the Akin group, the Company targets an initial annual turnover of US$ 50 million, rising eventually to US$ 100 million and a market share of 10 percent.
